No added sugar and still delicious!
I have been trying to find new ways to flavor our water without the assistance of the little squirt bottles or powdered options. This is simply to stay away from red dyes when possible. I'm not completely taking it out of our diets, but we were using so much water flavor with red dye, I decided to make a switch. So, I began experimenting with infused water, which didn't go over too well with the kids. I wanted to find something that would please everyone in the house. Not just me. That's where the lemonade option came to be. I always have a big bottle of lemon juice in my fridge for cooking and canning. So to toss 1/4 cup lemon juice with 6 cups of water is nothing to us. I always have powdered stevia as well. A scoop (1-2 tbsp) is always on hand. Honestly, I don't know why this hasn't been a thing in our house before now.
The regular lemonade was fine for the entire family, but the orangeade was an even bigger hit. The kids really enjoyed it. The cucumber lemonade was more so for myself and my husband. You have to be a fan of cucumber water to like this one. You can simply chomp on the cucumbers when the lemonade is all gone. So yummy!
If you're curious about red dye and where it is in our foods, this is a quick read on the topic: https://health.clevelandclinic.org/red-dye-40/
